Lieutenant General N.K. Singh, AVSM, VSM has taken over as
General Officer Commanding, 3 Corps from Lieutenant General R.K. Loomba,
AVSM. General N.K. Singh is a visionary
with humane approach. He is keen to
further strengthen the bonds of friendship between the people and security forces,
and enable people in all walks of life to be a part of the progress of India. General
NK Singh is an alumni of Indian Military Academy. He is an Infantry officer and was commissioned
into First Battalion the Third Gorkha Rifles on 24 Dec 1972.

He
has served in several areas and held enviable appointments, both in India and
abroad. In recognition of his sterling contribution and dedication to the organization
the General Officer was awarded the ‘Vishist Seva Medal’ while commanding his
battalion in a UN mission in Rwanda in the year 1995, and ‘Ati Vishist Seva
Medal’ as a General Officer Commanding in J&K in 2007. Before taking over
the present appointment the General was posted at Integrated Headquarters of MoD
(Army). Highly decorated and experienced,
