ALL has faced this

dear Freind

what you people are facing all indians has faced this and still facing,, as indian belive in teasing, south are called anna, madrasi, lungi , idli wada, gujjus are called ganda bhai, ghas puss, marwadi are called kanjoos, baniya, north indian bhaiyas, marathis as topi, tambaku.. so if u are called chinkies then u need not feel bad.. this is common. only thing north east is now integrating with other states, where as others has flocked long time back. in mumbai, who ever it may be, we retaliate specially we have special respect for our north east people.. we call them nepali.. they also call anna, topi,, bhaiya.. dare if any one act smart with them on road and escape with out getting hit by locals.. people will not discriminate just because they look different.. infact they get special prefernce as mumbai always help the weak .. but u can see many times people call madrasi to some black guy and some laughs and some walk away.. similarly this is attitude towards all by all of our indians.. so good thing what is hapening is , young crowd is travellign and getting accepted.. it will take time and slowly will get accepted.. sitting in your village u cant keep on getting afraid..

Lets face it. Indians use ethnic slurs like it\'s no one\'s business. There is little concern for the cordiality associated with race relations in our country, because everyone takes it for granted. As Rajesh says, we are all guilty of it. But first place to start? Don\'t refer to yourself as \"Chinky\". That is the language of your oppressors. It is reductionistic and says nothing about your history and culture for which you should be proud of as a significant contribution to our country\'s diversity. If anyone hurls the word \'chink\' at you in Delhi, tell them that you are a proud Indian from Arunachal Pradesh who has probably done more for his country than that sorry smut peddler who hurled the insult at you. In fact, tell him to go \'back to Pakistan\' and then see how he feels.

The Curse of Delhi...

I can empathise with the writer of this article to the maximum possible extent. Iam seeing it day in and day out, the remorseless indifference of a predominant class of Upper Class, Middle Class and Lower Class Delhi-ites to mock at people from other regions. Iam sure the intensity is too less in other cities like Bangalore or Chennai. Having travelled more than 15 countries on business and met different cultures, at times I feel very shameful to call myself Indian when I see these day-light atrocities. Im a South Indian and been a part of rebuke (indirectly) quite a few times when I landed up in New Delhi 3 years ago as a country manager of a Hongkong company, for my poor knowledge of Hindi (Iam Anglo-Indian educated, women do find me charming with my dusky looks and clean speech). For me, I take such people as frustrated personalities with a low self esteem. It shows their class, jealousy, hopelessness and insecurity when they meet a confident person.

I travelled in Sikkim and Darjeeing last october on holiday, I found the people to be just like my own community (http://www.badaga.org), very loving, caring and soft.

I would suggest my north eastern brothers/sisters to be stronger, bolder and never be let down these comments go to your heart. India is colorful because of you and me, so let us hope and wish for a better future.

Humans can be sadistic

I think humans have an innate sadistic side which makes them pick up on someone who stands out. It\'s like small kids torturing the legs off a bug or stoning dogs and cats. Us humans have to control these vicious behaviours of ours. And others in the form of the law and other people have to help enforce this control.

der is always a second side of coin...

indeed it is gud article but u noo wen people write these kind of articles they hide what is other side of coin bcoz it hurts the theme of the article.so its a humble request to the author and a challenge that just write 10 lines abt the gud experiences..then only we can judge is der really mishappenings..and unfortunate things happening wid north east people..these kind of protest against outsiders exist in each state..my personal experience with aassam and karanataka is not even gud but i feel tht was not the thing to raise hate against them...it does happen ...its nt tht much easy wen smbdy comes at u home and u open ur arms for him..it takes time..and even aft accepting der exist a friction...but it is obvious..india is like a kitchen basket full of different kind of utensils...sm r fragile..sm r robust..they collide..they hit ...they brake..but they stay 2gethr...this wat i proud.....

Aliens

Funny India ... thats what this nation is ... people from one state treat people from other state as aliens ... beings from some other world ... they mock .. they hurt ... they do things to others that they would never do to their own community. This is India. No state in India can accept people from other state. They will never get close with others. Fear .... Greed ... Pride ... Hatred .... and the general narrow mindedness with a very scant knowledge of the people living in other states of India ... be it in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Guwahati, Imphal...etc. to mock, humiliate, tease, torture etc. the people of other states. When will we be INDIANS and not NE people or North Indian or South Indian or Punjabis,Bengalis, Oriya...

What you had written is alright but again you are wrong in one statement my Bro and that is \"North-Eastern People are not adventurous\".
May be you don\'t have much knowledge of Armed forces and Martial Arts thats why you are saying like that......
If you get time just go and visit the Training camps of Indian Armed forces you will find north-east instructors there giving training lessons to our North and other regions soldiers....
Most of the well performed NSG cadets are from North-east.
Just visit Manipur Martial Art academy then only you came to know that what martial art and adventure is all about.....
Just watching roadies and Bollywood movies doesn\'t define you the term adventure, got it?
Hope after getting knowledge of all these u will eliminate the statement \"NE peoples are not adventurous\" from your mind.......
